 Two years
ago, a man named RAMBO, his brother Doggin...U, his wife
Smackcdown, and his daughter Killa decided to create a
Half-Life TFC clan with a dream of being among the
greatest. So this family of gamers played on their own
home server called HOUSE OF PAIN, which was owned by
Doggin...U. This family got a couple of newbie's to play
along side them in a scrimmage with Clan Napalm. We
barley lost this one, but the key factor in this match
was that CN would disband, and two of their best
players; Nofriends and Bond would join HOUSE OF PAIN.
Now with Nofriends and Bond playing in server often
showing off the [HOP]... tag, recruits were not hard to
find! This was a clan now with 9 or so members, a very
good server, and a dream! Soon after Bond and Nofriends
joined, the clan gained the following seriously skilled
=Þ recruits; MuggO, DRE, BALINOR, INDY, Doctor Lazarus,
and Doctor Spewok. We were ready to begin the
domination!!!!!
Eventually the little HOUSE OF PAIN clan signed up on
the OGL ladder. After our 4-0 dominating beginning to
our clan career, we faced our first real challenge in
NoXC, a clan which was also undefeated at 3-0. We won
one round, they won one round, and we tied a round. NoXC
complained to Zon about our server and sure enough Zon
ruled against us, and we would have to replay rounds 1
and 3, and their victory in round 2 would stand. We
pulled together and dominated both rounds taking the
match in the end. This was a huge character test for HOP
and we showed we have what it takes to overcome
adversity. A few more matches passed and we were
challenged by clan WOLF. I'm sure most of the old
HOP'ers remember this match, it was the first match I
didn't play in, and surely enough we got our asses
handed to us, WOLF at this time was a powerhouse in the
TFC community!, and getting worked by them really tested
the will of our clan to stick together. And congrats on
your cap in round 2 Spewok, well done! =)
Well, we knew we were no longer invincible, and that
believe it or not, there were more skilled clans out
there than us. The loss to WOLF lit a flame under the
HOUSE OF PAIN and we immediately went on a 14 game win
streak after that! During that run we attained players
such as Shady and Joey Buttafuko to aid us through the
leagues. That run was eventually halted by the
undefeated STAR clan in TFL on epicenter! I remember
this match very well as we were heavy underdogs believe
it or not. STAR took round 11-9, but during round 2, at
one point HOP had the overall match lead up 5-2, of
course we got all excited and our play suffered and we
lost that round 2, but we were close to being ranked 1
in TFL 2A. Well as disappointed as we were about losing
that match, we had to push on, because a week later we
captured our first TITLE! (If you can call it that) We
were the S2N tournament 2 champions.
In that tournament we went through such teams as CoS,
DR, NoXC, Torque to come out on TOP! Didn't really
matter though because that league fell apart after that
tournament! Our next big match was a match with the
FAMED Paradoxinal Infinity! this was a TFL 2A match and
again we were the underdogs. Also this was our first
match without a captain present, so 2 LIEUT MuggO
stepped up and assumed the role =) Needless to say, we
don't lose too often on Shutdown2!! Round 1 they didn't
even get a touch!!!, and round 2 they got 1 cap out, but
it wasn't enough as our offense cracked their Defense 3
times and we took the win over the big boys. Later that
same night (about 20 minutes later) due to shitty
scheduling problems, we were forced to play Les in OGL
also without RAMBO, so on this hectic night, no
captains, muggo again stepped up, and we got our revenge
on Lesbian!!! Oh sorry, Lovingly, Effeminate, Stylish
=), absolutely raping them in openfire 90-0 I think! Man
it felt good! =Þ,
Well somewhere in there, way back Doggin...U lost his
server, so RAMBO stepped up and got us one... then we
attained PSYCHO who also had a server, which proved to
be incredibly useful because Rambo lost his server
shortly thereafter. So we were back to 1 server,
Psycho's.Anyways we were quite good now, starting to get
recognized in the community with victories over such
clans as Karnij, Clockwork Orange, eXeL, RE, TFF, dB4d,
SR etc... Somewhere in that couple months of domination
we picked up the great DefattedWheatGerm, Gekko,
Violator, JP and Ceremony, But we hit a serious speed
bump a couple weeks later with losses to WoB, AGT, KoD,
dB4d, PXI, SOL, LfA, SR, IKK, and aD. Forced Rambo to
consider leaving TFC and concentrating on real life, and
sure enough that's what happened... At this point JP
took over the torch and started rebuilding our website
under the leadership and support of Papabear the
dominating HW, and the mad scout Shade. With the new
leadership of Papabear, and me, we kept pushing forward.
Our perseverance paid off, wins started to show up
again, victories over vQc, Xo|, BC, XtN. got some of our
confidence back. I decided to add more fun to this clan
by signing us up in 5 vs. 5! now how's that for an idea
=) HOUSE OF PAIN DOMINATION continued in 5 vs. 5 causing
a few 5 v 5 clans to disband mid-round. We were rolling'
again. This new confidence helped us to victories over
CANNIBAL! The Agency, absolute Devastation, -RR-, XtN,
FOoM etc... At this point I was leaving for school, and
Papabear was really busy with work, so our new captains,
Shade and JP really took over and refocused the clan,
with the help of DefattedWheatGerm soon to become a
captain also. They took a very aggressive stance on
cleaning up the clan, its reputation and started
recruiting a lot of new talent.
We climbed the ranks of STA GOLD, and title shot after
title shot, loss to moneyshot after loss to moneyshot,
we're still plugging away at it, currently ranked 4 in
STA Gold, with one of the best winning %'s, and a Title
shot coming up which could become another landmark as
the teams we are facing are one's we've done well
against in the past. Currently had the STA Gold 5 vs. 5
title for a long time (we will get it back) and are
ranked #1 out of ALL ACTIVE CLANS on the KSE 5 vs. 5
ladder, and 2nd overall on the KSE 5 vs. 5 stock
exchange!... We are in TFL 1A with the cream of the crop
of the TFC community, Best of luck to us this season in
that, could be a real Character test. I think Rambo
would be extremely proud that his dream of creating a
powerhouse clan 2 years ago has come true. We ARE among
the elite! In the 2 years, counting all matches, this
clan has achieved an INCREDIBLE record.
Pretty damn good if you ask me...
Congratulations EVERYONE who has ever been involved with
this clan!
